We hire former refugees, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, young people and others who face barriers to employment. They’ve got the drive and dedication; we provide the support and training, so they thrive on the job.

OUR WORK READINESS PROGRAM
We do the groundwork so our people show up skilled, supported and ready to deliver.
Many of the people we work with haven’t had a fair go in the job market. Some are new to Australia and navigating language barriers, unfamiliar workplace expectations and different safety standards. Others are returning to work after time away or experiencing long-term unemployment, and may need support rebuilding routines, confidence and job-ready habits.
We help people understand how Australian worksites operate – from reading payslips and contracts to knowing their workplace rights, showing up on time and using safety gear correctly. It’s practical support that protects our people and sets them up to succeed.
With the right training, guidance and real-world experience, our teams build the confidence and skills to step onto site ready to contribute from day one.
Workplace Basics
Support with essentials to start strong.
Before the first shift, we help people understand the basics — from payslips and contracts to safety gear and arriving on time. We also provide ongoing support like transport, translation and one-on-one mentoring, so our team can hit the ground running.
Training on the Job
Building practical skills through real work.
Our people are ready to work. They’re trained to use the right tools and equipment, follow site instructions, work safely in a team, and deliver consistent, reliable results. Once on the job, we stay involved with on-site guidance to help them build confidence.
Employment Pathways
From job-ready to long-term employment.
We build people up through support and training, then help them move into long-term roles — within Green Yakka, in other jobs, or in your team. They’ve already built the right skills and experience, so bringing them on is an easy next step.
